Privacy Policy
What personal data Propel collects on thepropel.co and at purchase, why, who processes it and your rights.
Version 1.0 · Effective 29 October 2026
This policy explains what personal data Propel collects on thepropel.co and when you buy the Product, why, and what you can do about it. Propel, a business based in India, is the data controller (or "data fiduciary" under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023).
1. What we collect
| What | When | Why | Kept for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Email address, and team size or role if you give them | You join the waitlist | To tell you about the launch and pricing (your consent) | Until you unsubscribe, or 12 months after launch |
| Name, email, country and order details | You buy | To deliver the Product, send updates and keep tax records (contract and legal duty) | For as long as the law requires for tax records, usually 7 years |
| What you write to us | You email support | To answer you (legitimate interest) | 24 months after the conversation ends |
| Theme choice (light or dark) | You switch theme on the site | To remember it; it is stored only in your own browser | Until you clear your browser storage |
We do not collect card details. Dodo Payments collects payment information directly, under its own privacy policy.
thepropel.co does not use advertising or analytics cookies, does not track you across other sites, and serves its fonts from its own server rather than a third-party font service. If we add privacy-friendly analytics later, we will update this page first.
2. Who handles it for us
We share personal data only with the services that help us run Propel:
- Dodo Payments: payments, invoices, tax and delivery emails.
- Vercel and Resend: stores waitlist sign-ups.
- Resend: sends launch emails.
- Vercel: hosts thepropel.co and keeps standard server logs, such as IP address and browser type, for security.
We do not sell or rent personal data. Some of these providers process data outside your country. Where the law requires it, they do so under standard safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
3. Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- show you the data we hold about you, correct it or delete it;
- stop emailing you (use the unsubscribe link, or write to us);
- withdraw consent you gave, without affecting what we did before you withdrew it.
The GDPR, UK GDPR, India's DPDP Act and some US state laws give extra rights, including data portability, the right to object, and the right to complain to your data protection authority. To use any right, write to hello@thepropel.co. We reply within 30 days.
Grievance officer (India). The Propel privacy team, hello@thepropel.co.
4. Security
- We use providers with strong security practices.
- We limit who can see personal data.
- We only keep data for the periods listed above.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your data, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
5. Children
Propel is a professional tool. It is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
6. Changes
If this policy changes, we update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we also email waitlist members and customers.
